

Verena Hermina Notter-McKinny, 82, of Boonville, MO passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Columbia. Friends may gather from 10-12pm, Saturday, May 10 at William-Wood Funeral Home, 517 4th Street Boonville, MO.
Verena was born December 28, 1942, in Langnau, Zurich Switzerland to Arnold and Hermina Notter. She immigrated to the United States in 1964 from Switzerland. Not knowing the language, she taught herself English. She became employed at Mark Herd Topographic Design as a draftsman. Once her children became school age, she worked as a draftsman for Centel Telephone from 1978 until she moved to Marengo, IL in 1985. In 1989, she and her family moved to Boonville where she would reside until her death. She was employed by the Central Missouri Area Agency on Aging (CMAAA) and was a long-time volunteer for the Cooper County Salvation Army.
She was well known by many from all over the world, she will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jim McKinny of Boonville; Daughter, Ursula (Dan) Bedeaux and her daughters Molly, Megan, & Marin; a son, Anthony (Amber) Tanner and his children, Rowan, Breanna, & Gavin. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Monika Tanner and is survived by her daughters, Hanna and Marley.
