Alberto R. Torra

Loving son of the late Michele and Maria (Capodilupo) Torra. Beloved husband for 65 years to Maria Antonia (Pezzano) Torra. Cherished father of Michael and Rocco Torra. Dear brother of Aniello and his wife Guilia (Orlandella) Torra of Italy and the late Maria Grazia (Torra) and her husband Carmen Coppola; Brother-in-law of the late Luigi and Ersilia (Pezzano)Torra, Pasquale and Dolores (Ruzzo) Pezzano; Son-in-law of the late Rocco and Filomena (Pennacchio) Pezzano. Adored uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Alberto was born and raised in San Sossio Baronia, Italy, coming to the U.S. in 1961. He first lived in Boston’s North End before moving to Medford in 1978. He provided for his family by working many trades until he found his passion, along with his wife and sons, in the food industry. Together they were the proprietors of Alberto’s Sub Shop in the Financial District, International Pushcart in Beacon Hill and Alberto’s Deli of Course on Atlantic Ave. He retired in 2016, enjoying his music and tending to his vegetable garden.

He was a devout Catholic and dedicated parishioner of St. Leonard Church. A longtime member of the Madonna delle Grazie of S.S. Baronia Society. Alberto was honored to be the godfather to the newly baptized statue of the Madonna delle Grazie at St. Leonard Church.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm in the J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel, 580 Commercial St., Boston. COMPLIMENTARY VALET PARKING ATTENDANTS AT FRONT DOOR. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 10am in St. Leonard Church, 320 Hanover St., Boston. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Services will conclude with interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale.
