Anne Marie Pistorio

Anne M. Pistorio, the loving daughter of the late James and Helen Pistorio passed away peacefully on October 30th. Anne, a long time resident of Boston’s North End was raised in Mattapan and Jamaica Plain. She was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament High School and later went on to have a long career in financial and accounting management. Anne enjoyed spending time with her friends and family in Boston, on Cape Cod and in her travels abroad.

As an advocate for the North End, Anne contributed countless hours to maintaining and enhancing the community in which she lived. Anne was very involved with the North End Waterfront Residents Association and was co-chair of the Parks and Open Space Committee, and she acted as an advocate to City Hall on behalf of her neighborhood. Anne was a member of Friends of the North End Parks and worked on beautification projects in the neighborhood and on the Greenway. Anne’s interest in the history of the North End, and her countless research tasks, led to her being viewed as a respected neighborhood researcher and historian.

Anne is survived by her adopted son, Anthony McGill, brother, James Pistorio, Jr and his wife Lois of Dennis, MA and sisters Noreen Devine and her husband Hugh of Cohasset, Frances Ferro and her husband Louis of Sudbury and Judith Pistorio and her husband Stephen Yankum of Lincoln and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her greatly.

A funeral Mass in celebration of Anne’s life will take place at St. Joseph’s Church on Wm. Cardinal O’Connell Way, Boston, Wednesday, November 5th at 10AM.
