Dolores Ann (Cataldo) Merola, 87 of Boston’s North End, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2021. She was born in Boston, a daughter of the late Giacamino and Lucia (DeAngelis) Cataldo. She was a secretary at Massachusetts General Hospital for many years and was a Communicant of St. Leonard Church. Her family and friends were everything to her, she was a devote Catholic, and found the joy in anything. She was a happy person, with a beautiful smile. She enjoyed cooking and singing. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Pasquale A. “Pat” Merola, her loving and devoted children, Doreen Merola of Boston, Steven Merola and his wife JoAnn of North Andover and Paul Merola and his wife Mai of Irvine, CA., three treasured grandchildren, Steven Merola and his wife Cara of Bradford, Anthony Merola of Westwood and Stephanie Merola of North Andover, two cherished great grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Merola, her brother Daniel Cataldo of Revere, her sister in law, Annette Cataldo and brothers in law Alfred Mestone and Angelo DiFronzo, many loving nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Anthony, Susie and Joseph Cataldo, Lydia Zizza and her husband Joseph, Josephine Mestone, Vilma DiFronzo and sister in law Carol Cataldo. The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to Brian Monahan and Cody Jaskot for all their love and support during this time. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 17th, at 10AM in St. Leonard Church, 320 Hanover St., Boston (North End), followed by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden. A time of visitation from 8:45AM-9:30AM at the J.S. Waterman-Langone Chapel, 580 Commercial St., Boston, MA 02109.
