

Edward DiBlasi passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on March 23rd, after giving a sudden illness his best fight. At his bedside was his devoted cousin Theresa Raso and his God Son, Edward Dewsnap. Ed was born on July 28,1930 in California to the late Laurence and Anna DiBlasi. He is survived by Ann Marie DiBlasi wife of his beloved brother, the late Larry DiBlasi. Ed leaves his dearest friend and partner in life, Josie Buceta of the North End.
Ed spent most of his youth growing up in Boston's West End. He was a veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. After serving his country, Ed moved to Everette, MA where he continued to make lifelong friends. After retiring from his work as an Automotive Master Mechanic, Ed returned to Boston's iconic West End neighborhood. There he joined cousins Theresa Raso and her late husband, Vin Raso, As neighbors, Ed and Theresa continued to look after one another while keeping close relationships with cousins Michael Mascari, Robert and Theresa (Mascari) Dewsnap, and their children and grandchildren - all of whom Ed demonstrated his love and devotion toward.
Eddie's relationships with family and friends were deeply valued throughout his life. Those fortunate enough to know Ed will remember him for his many virtues including kindness, trust, loyalty and respect to all people, his community and his country. Revered by many, Ed was known for having an ever-present personality. He was a charismatic fixture symbolizing the best of Boston's North End. Ed enjoyed everyday, he was a pillar of joy, encouragement and strength. His infectious smile and gigantic heart will be missed. We love you cousin Eddie.
