Filomena (Spagnuolo) Polichetti age 90, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a 6 year battle with cancer. A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished homemaker, Filomena lived a life defined by love, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to her family.
She was born on February 19, 1935, in Pratola Serra, Provincia di Avellino, Italy where she resided with her family until 1972, when she and her husband Gaetano, chose to give her family a better life and move to the North End section of Boston. Filomena brought with her the rich traditions of her homeland upon their arrival. Her deep-rooted values and strong Catholic faith guided her throughout her life and were evident in every act of kindness she extended to those around her.
Filomena and her husband together built a home filled with warmth and laughter. She was a loving mother to Carmela and her husband Rick Wynn of Plymouth; Pasquale Polichetti and his fiancée Susan Pagliarulo of Boston; Maria Egan and her husband Michael of Abington; and Laura Yeadon and her husband Edward of Rockland. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren: Lisa Menezes and her husband Sam; Elizabeth Wynn; Gianna Polichetti and her wife Becky DePriest; Angela Polichetti; Christopher Egan and his wife Lindsey Pontuso; Matthew Egan; Edward Yeadon Jr. and his wife Laura; Joseph Yeadon and his wife Alexa; and Julia Yeadon. She also delighted in the presence of her great-grandchildren Brayden, Beckham, Blakely, and Baylor Pontuso-Egan and Nico Polichetti.
Filomena is also remembered by her sister Lucia Polichetti; brother Gerardo Spagnuolo and his wife Edith; sister in law Eugenia Spagnuolo. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Spagnuolo and wife Antionetta, brother Constantino Spagnuolo, brother Antonio Spagnuolo, and sister in law Rosa Spagnuolo, as well as many other who were touched by her generous heart.
Her legacy is one of unconditional love, tireless devotion to family, joyful generosity, and quiet strength. Those who knew Filomena will carry forward the lessons she taught not through words but through example: to love deeply, give freely, laugh often—and always put family first.
May Filomena “Miuzza” Polichetti’s memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
