

Gin Lew SooHoo, a remarkable individual born on November 12, 1939, in the vibrant city of Canton, China, peacefully departed this world on July 18, 2025, at the age of 85. Surrounded by the warmth and love of his cherished family, he left behind a legacy of kindness and devotion.
He is survived by his beloved wife, May Soohoo, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of love for 60 wonderful years. As a dedicated father, he was a guiding light for his daughter, Karen, and her husband, Va Tak Chao, as well as for his son, Henry, and his wife, Michelle.
Gin took great joy in his role as a grandfather, finding immense happiness in the company of his three treasured grandchildren: Kayla, Theryn, and Mason, who brought him endless joy and laughter. Gin was also a beloved sibling, holding a special place in the hearts of his brothers and sisters: Fay, Kay, Gin, and Jane. He was a cherished son to Mee Gum and the late Shu Hoy, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.
In honor of his life, a funeral service will take place at the J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel, located at 580 Commercial St, Boston, MA, on Wednesday, July 23. The service will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his remarkable journey. Following the service, Gin will be laid to rest at St. Michael Cemetery, situated at 500 Canterbury St, Boston, MA, where his family will honor his memory and bid their final farewell.
