Goy Fong Woo

July 9, 1929July 16, 2018

With a heavy heart, we would like to notify our friends and family of the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Goy Fong Woo on July 16th, 2018.

She was born in 1929 to a well-off family in Shanghai and Wuhan, and learned five dialects of Chinese. In 1964, she emigrated to the U.S. out of devotion to her six children. She loved to read and brought with her two suitcases full of books, which she used to teach her children Chinese. Family was her highest priority, and she worked as a garment worker to ensure that her children got a good life. She was the center of the family and very much loved by her spouse and all her children and grandchildren.

Services will be held this Saturday at 10:00 am at Boston Harborside Home of J.S. Waterman & Sons-Waring-Langone, 580 Commercial Street, Boston MA 02190.

Dear Alice
I am so sorry. I have not had the occasion to see your mom for many years, but remember her spirit and kindness from many years ago. I know how much you loved her and respected her and the sacrifices she made for you and your siblings. I am certain though, she is looking down on you and your brothers and sisters with pride for all you have accomplished. I know there are no words that I can say to bring you comfort but know that my heart and prayers are with you and the family. Love, K
