Gregory Benson Timilty

Son of Elaine (Benson) and the late former State Senator and former Boston City Councilor Joseph F. Timilty, brother of Joseph F. Timilty, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Canton, former Norfolk County Treasurer and former State Senator James E. Timilty and his wife Mary of Walpole, Barton A. Timilty of Canton, and the late Governor's Councilor Kelly Timilty, Kara Timilty, and Patrick A. Timilty. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom he adored.

Greg attended Boston College High School and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1997, where he was a valued member of the Crusaders football team, wearing number 13 and earning a varsity letter. The same dedication and drive he showed on the field defined his professional and personal life.

Greg was a man of sharp intellect, conviction, and remarkable eloquence. He began his professional career at BlueFin Research Partners, where his insight and analytical mind quickly distinguished him. Most recently, he served as Director of Inside Sales at Trendrating.

Greg was deeply proud of his Boston roots and his family’s long tradition of public service. A former candidate for Boston City Council, he was driven by a genuine commitment to his community and a belief in the power of thoughtful leadership and civic engagement.

Those who knew Greg will remember his wit, warmth, and his remarkable command of language. He possessed an extraordinary heart and a rare ability to express both love and truth with uncommon grace. His legacy lives on in his children - the greatest joy of his life and whom he loved beyond measure - and in all whose lives he touched.

Family and friends are invited to share in a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Greg’s life on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Cecilia Parish, 18 Belvidere Street, Boston, MA 02115. A private interment at Forest Hills Cemetery to follow at a later date.
