Janet E. Dolan (Duncan) Of Boston, passed away surrounded by family on October 15, 2018. Jani had a kind and positive spirit and was an integral part of Beacon Hill. Her friendly smile was backed by a clever and inquisitive mind, and she was beloved by all who knew her. After 35 years with MS, a series of recent illnesses proved too much for her body to handle. But she lived life fully right up until the end. Jani grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson in New York and graduated from Tufts University and Columbia University School of Nursing. She devoted many years to health and community service in Manhattan and Dobbs Ferry, NY. Jani and her late husband Kevin Dolan moved to Boston in 1987 and she adored the beauty and culture of her adopted city. Her spirit will continue to guide her daughters, Kerry Dolan Slater of Sierra Madre, California and Tracy Dolan of Grankulla, Finland, and her beloved grandchildren Mason Slater and Alec, Katie and Megan Lindqvist. She is also survived by her brothers Hugh, John and Tim Duncan. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 21 at 3:30pm at the Parish House of King’s Chapel, 64 Beacon Street, Boston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the National MS Society at http://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/janidolan
