Dear Santoro Family,
As long-time residents of this “vertical neighborhood” called Hathorne Place, where mailbox and elevator encounters offer moments of “neighborliness”, it is within this context that we write. Alma and I were shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Joan Santoro leaving our neighborhood. Her ever-smiling presence is sorely missed now.

We were pleased to find Joan’s photo with the notice that brought us this sad news. Her beautiful warm smile is there, and we will hold that in our memory of her as we remember her as one of our most kind and friendly neighbors.

We offer our deepest sympathy to all the Santoro family for their loss of such a loving partner, aunt, wife, and mother,

Most Sincerely,

Alma Berson

Dear Vinny and family,
I am so saddened to learn of the passing of my dear cousin Joan.
She was a beautiful and warm person. She called me when she heard I was not feeling well and just about that time she took sick. I will never forget her. Fly with the angels Joan.
