Matthew Bartlett Winthrop passed away January 1, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, Nathaniel T. Winthrop and Serita L. Bartlett, and survived by three sisters: Serita Winthrop (Florida), Katherine Winthrop (New Jersey), Cornelia Winthrop (New York), and four brothers: John Winthrop (South Carolina), Beekman Winthrop (Washington, DC), Nathaniel T. Winthrop (Vermont), and Stephen van R. Winthrop (Massachusetts).
Handicapped since his early years, Matthew Winthrop always loved music and was involved in a variety of charities – most recently Toastmasters International and the disadvantaged.
The cause of death was issues related to his lifelong paralysis aggravated by infection.
Instead of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted by the charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, January 7.
