Richard V. Corrieri

Born in Boston, Richard grew up in Roslindale, graduated from Roslindale High School and then attended Mansfield Academy where he earned a degree in Cosmetology. He began his hairdressing career by working in a salon in Gilchrist’s department store in Quincy. He eventually found his way back to Boston and worked for over 50 years in prestigious hair salons on Newbury Street, For the last 25 years he owned his own shop, Persona, on Newbury St with partners Gail, Ed, and Michael and Patti. Over the years in the hair salon business Richard accumulated many dear coworkers, clients and friends who loved him.

Richard, the son of the late Victor M Corrieri and the late Rita T (Orsi) Corrieri is survived by his sister Paula J (Corrieri) Tobin, his nephews, Stephen Tobin and wife Kerry, Daniel Tobin and wife Karime, and his grand-nephews Brandon and Nicholas as well as several cousins.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated at the Church of the Advent 30 Brimmer St, Boston on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11:00 am. Richard was dearly loved by the clergy and his many friends at the Church of the Advent where he was a congregant for decades and served as an acolyte for many years. The Church of the Advent became like a second home to Richard and his many friends were like family to him.

Richard was a lover of all animals especially his precious cats Dixie, Andy, Chrystal, and Alfie and his beloved dogs Ozzie and Sophie. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Animal Rescue League of Boston.
