
She grew up in Marshfield and Cohasset, MA and attended Derby Academy, Cohasset High School, Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from Aquinas College in 1962.
Rosemarie moved to Washington, DC in the mid-60’s working for General Motors for several years before going to Capitol Hill where she worked for Senator Richard B. Russell of Georgia and then Edward W. Brooke, of Massachusetts, whom she loved and respected.
She returned to Boston in 1972 and later worked for FEMA for 24 years. She spent most of her adult life living in Boston’s Back Bay, the most recent 20 years at Hale House on the corner of Clarendon and Marlborough Streets. Hale House was a very warm and loving environment that brought her comfort and joy.
Rosemarie is survived by two sisters, Andrea Powning of Davidson, NC, Kathleen Ladd of Concord, MA and a brother, William D. Murphy of McLean, VA., as well as beloved nephews and nieces Philip Arbury and Alexander Ladd and Caroline Mayer and Martina Bonnes.
There will be a memorial service at a later date when the current pandemic restrictions are lifted.
