Sylvia Echlov

Sylvia was predeceased by her daughter Maria Rivera and her husband, Irving Echlov.

Sylvia was born and raised in the North End, married her first husband Bernard Rivera. They raised their children, Jack and Maria there. Then married Irving and moved to Florida to retire. She volunteered in the community Medical Vans in Southern Florida. She enjoyed Italian cooking, sewing & loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible. Sylvia was a Licensed Practical Nurse graduate of Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Sylvia is survived by her Son, Jack Rivera and Daughter-In-Law, Sheryl of Derry, N.H. Sylvia is survived by her grandsons Nicholas Rivera of Boston, Jason Rivera of Derry, N.H. and their spouses and four great grandchildren, Charlie Belle, Ella Rose, Mariana Adaline & Mia Jade and several Nieces and Nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel, 580 Commercial Street, Boston, MA 02109, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Complimentary valet attendants at the front door. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sylvia’s name to your favorite animal shelter.
