Massachusetts where he was a longtime resident. "Bud" was born in New Jersey,
attended the Pingry School and was a graduate of the Sibley College of Mechanical
Engineering of Cornell University. He served on active duty in the United States
Air Force during the Korean War and went on to have a long career with the McGraw-
Hill Publishing Company in New York City and Boston. He is survived by his adoring
wife Charlotte Jorgensen Patten, his brother John Wills Patten of Stowe, Vermont,
and by numerous nieces and nephews along with great nieces and nephews to whom he
was devoted. A Memorial for him will be held at a later date. Donations may
