Andrew George Montalbano

Andrew George Montalbano, 83, of Bourne died March 15, 2012. He was the husband of Mary V. (Gagnon) Montalbano to whom he was married for 56 years. Andrew "Andy" was born in Framingham, MA son of the late Guiseppe "Joe" and Mildred (Banta) Montalbano. He was a 1951 graduate of Boston University Law School. He was a Korean War veteran serving with the US Marine Corps. During his working years, he was an attorney for Allstate Insurance and the Chubb Group. In his spare time, he loved reading, averaging 5 books a week. He also loved to walk, flowers, draw and never missed breakfast. He was known to be a gentle man and loved his grandchildren. Also, he tutored at the Peebles School. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his children; Joel of New York, Jay of Colorado, Jon of New York, Lisa Montalbano-Buckland of New York, his grandchildren; Jason, Andrew, Gregory, Gavin, Grant and Griffin; son-in-law Robert Buckland; 3 sisters; Ellen, Josette and Judie and beloved cousin Anne-Marie Burke. Visiting hours will be held Sunday March 18th from 4 to 7 PM at the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd, from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral mass will be held Monday, March 19th at 11 AM, at St John the Evangelist Church, 841 Shore Rd. Bourne. Internment to follow at 12:45 PM at the MA National Cemetery.
