

Armond "Andy" Wheeler, a longtime resident of Pocasset, was born and raised in Millville, Alabama. Upon graduation from High School he entered the U.S. Air Force in 1948 and retired in 1968. He served two and a half years in the Far East during the Korean War and also served in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. The majority of his military career was served at Otis AFB. His service to our country then culminated with ten years in the Air Force Reserve.
He graduated from Cape Cod Community after retiring from the Air Force. He continued his education at Bridgewater State College. He owned and operated the Woodchips Motor Inn in East Wareham during the early seventies.
Mr. Wheeler was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5988 in Bourne, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He enjoyed swimming, jogging, walking, bird watching, gardening, reading, music, and sports.
He was a loving father of four, grandfather of 11, and great grandfather of 7.
Private services are by the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA.
