Arthur V. King

He was the husband of the late Rose Guarniere of Fall River, Massachusetts, and the late Loreto Tottle of Somerville, Massachusetts.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Arthur & Josephine King, he was raised in the city’s South End, and attended Durfee High School as an Honor Society student, class of 1950.

As a youth, he was active in sports. He played basketball and baseball for various leagues in Fall River, and in his late teens he developed a passion for golf, which remained throughout his adult life.

In 1952, Arthur enlisted in the US Air Force and received an honorable discharge as a staff sergeant in 1956. After radio school training in Biloxi, Mississippi, his tour of duty took him to Anchorage, Alaska, St. Lawrence Island and San Antonio, Texas.

He married the late Rose Guarniere of Fall River in 1954 and together they raised 5 children, primarily in Westport, Massachusetts.

In 1962, Arthur began a career in claims adjusting and retired in 1986 as Branch Claims Manager for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. Later he formed King & Associates Investigating Company with his son Jeff.

Arthur is survived by his 5 children: Loren King, Karen King Weeks, Audrey King, Jeffrey King, and Jason King as well as their spouses: 4 grandchildren: Andrew King, Charles King, Emma Weeks, and Cameron Weeks, and several nieces and nephews.

With his tremendous wit and charming personality, Arthur will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5th at 1pm located at Bourne United Methodist Church, 37 Sandwich Rd., Bourne, MA 02532.
