Carol Jean Hoffmann
October 1, 1942 – June 6, 2018
Pocasset ~ Carol Jean Hoffmann 75, passed away peacefully and surrounded by love on the morning of Wednesday June 6, 2018. Born in St. Louis, MO ~ on October 1, 1942 Carol was the youngest of 4 beautiful daughters to the late Marie and Edward Hoffmann. Carol is survived by her two daughters and their families ~ Jennifer Gill, husband Matthew and their three children ~ Madison, Jackson and Carly of Barrington, RI; Elizabeth Marshall, Jerome Enos and their two children Bella and Tucker of Cotuit, MA; as well, she is survived by two sisters ~ Lois Boemer, husband Allen of Marlborough, MA; Joann Steinbrueck, husband Leon of St. Louis, MO, and predeceased by one sister and her husband, Ruth and Wayne Koenig.
As well, Carol is survived by several loving nieces and nephews and their families. Carol grew up in St. Louis and attended Lutheran School then went on to Junior College. She decided to spread her wings and moved to Detroit where she worked as a reservationist for United Airlines, she then transferred to San Franscisco, then to Washington, DC. In 1967, Carol and her husband, at the time, returned to St. Louis to care for her father ~ she then began working for Delta Airlines. Working for the airlines afforded Carol to travel to several destinations such as Germany, Portugal, England, Greece and Hawaii. In the fall of 1985, Carol and her family finally settled on Cape Cod where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Anyone that knew Carol knew that her five grandchildren, whom affectionately referred to her as 'GaGa', were the absolute lights of her life and any moments she spent with them were completely cherished by Carol ~ when the grandkids were toddlers and babies she would care for them a couple times a week for each of her daughters ~ as she grew older and no longer could drive, the grandkids would visit her at Cape Cod Senior Residences.
Living at Cape Cod Senior Residences brought such joy to Carol. She was a member of the Hospitality Committee and always enjoyed the special monthly dinner highlighting a particular country and its' cuisine. All the staff at the Residences are so caring and she and her family felt so blessed to have her live there.
My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints in the sand, it was then that I carried you”. Footprints in the Sand ~ Author Unknown

My dear sweet youngest sister, Carol! She was such a gentle and kind spirit so giving, caring, and unselfish in all things. Although apart by many miles (I live in St. Louis) we remained close to the end. I will miss our talks and texts, but Praise The Lord, she no longer has any health issues, but now she has a glorious body and is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a reunion taking place with all our loved ones - the faithful gone before us! Carol will remain in our hearts and memories until we reunite with her in heaven. Our prayers continue on behalf of Jen, Matt, Madison, Jackson and Carly and Betsy, Jerome, Bella and Tucker - the blessing and joy of her earthly life! God's peace and joy be with you during this time and in the days and years to come. We love you all! Aunt Joann and Uncle Leon
