Carol Ann Mikutel (Grindle), 82, of Bourne passed away July 4th, 2021. She was born to the late Bruce and Gertrude Olive Grindle (Poore) of Weymouth, MA on December 17th, 1938. She Graduated from Stoughton High School and attended Stonehill College. She married her loving husband William John Mikutel, Jr. in September of 2003.
For many years Carol was the Program Manager for the Self Help, Inc. Weatherization and Energy Conservation Program in Brockton MA, until her retirement at age 70. She worked her way up through the program initially starting in the late 1980s as a seasonal Fuel Assistance intake worker. During her tenure she helped the program attain many goals to help the clients of the program stretch their fuel assistance dollars.
She lived for many years in the community of Foxboro, MA where she was an active member of the Mothers for chapter 766 and the PTA. She and her friends helped work to pass educational reform to help children with special needs in the state of Massachusetts.
Carol loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader and could read a book a day at her best. She loved to talk about and share what she had read with others.
Carol is survived by her husband, William Mikutel, Jr. of Bourne, MA: her sister Diane McLaughlin and her husband James of Hull: her brother Bruce Grindle and his wife Roberta of Plattsburg, NY: her children Amy Elizabeth Cushing and her longtime partner Paul Kilfoyle of Falmouth Ma: Daughter JudyAnn Amlong and her Husband Edward Amlong of Valrico, FL: her Daughter Melissa Beresford of Bourne, MA and Fiancé Robert Plumer of Foxboro, MA: Her grandchild James Flagg and wife Carrie and their Daughter Josie of Blackstone, MA: Grandchild Tracy Loftus and Husband Peter and their son Connor of Falmouth, MA: and grandchild Sam Beresford of Bourne, Ma. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her Sister Joyce Gillespie of Guilford ME and former husband Harvey Nelson Cushing of Port St. Lucie, FL.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Lung Association in her name.
