She was born on Strone Farm, Strathlachlan, Argyll, Scotland on September 2, 1944, to the late Roderick and Mary (Stirling) Morrison.
Catherine was very proud of her Scottish heritage. She brought her children home to Scotland during summer vacations to teach them about the culture and show them the beauty of the Scottish countryside. Catherine was strongly devoted to her family, she always gave her utmost to her children and grandchildren, supporting them fully in all their endeavors and interests.
Catherine is survived by her loving family: her husband Alex R. Fernandes of Mebane, NC, her son Robert E. Fernandes and wife Evelisse of Mebane, NC, her daughter Paulina M. Fernandes and husband Thomas Whitehill of Pocasset, MA, her two granddaughters Iona Mai Whitehill and Carina Lee Whitehill of Pocasset, MA, and her sister Rhoda Surgenor of London, England.
A private service and graveside will be held.
