Catherine E. Stenquist

Catherine Elizabeth (Harding) Stenquist of Plymouth, and formerly of Bourne, died on July 26, 2013 at the age of 92. An elder of the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe, she was the wife of the late Warner J. Stenquist, and the mother of Waldo Greene of Bourne, David Greene of Bourne, Patricia Byrd of California, Donna Fish of Bourne, Kathryn Hunt of Plymouth and the late Vera “Ellie” Stenquist.

She enjoyed being surrounded by her friends and family, taking over the kitchen at large family gatherings, cribbage tournaments and putting together puzzles with her grandchildren.

Besides her children, she is survived by her brother, Warren “Tunney” Harding; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 4 to 7 pm in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. in Bourne. Funeral services in the funeral home will begin at 11 am on Wednesday, with burial following in the Old Indian Cemetery in Bournedale.
