Doris Frances Ouellet

As a child she and her family spent summers on the Cape at the family cottage in Pocasset. Telling stories of her childhood antics with her younger sister and cousins in "the valley" always brought a smile to her face.

She is survived by her husband, Alphonse J. Ouellet and his three children. Also her sons Geoffrey and Keith Pedersen and Granddaughters Krista Ventura and Bethany Pedersen.

She was a teacher in both the North Shore and Bourne School Systems and graduated from Bridgewater State College with a dual Masters Degree in Special Education.

She was an avid reader and writer and spent most of her free time teaching literacy to the underserved. With the help of a dear friend just recently, at 98, she fulfilled a life-long dream of having one of her poems published in a book, Warrior Women with Angel Wings.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and even well into 97 years old was always witty. Throughout her life she touched many people with her kind and gentle nature. She is loved dearly and will certainly be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 11:30 am on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA. Visitation prior to service 10:30 am to 11:30 a.m. Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery to follow.
