FLECK, Douglas Wayne, 75, of Carver, MA passed away on November 10, 2020, at Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth, MA. He was born to William Fleck and Barbara (Goff) Lizotte on July 1,1945 in North Dighton, MA.
Douglas went to Taunton High School, and later joined the United States Air Force in 1966. He proudly served his country during Vietnam, returned home and later joined the Air National Guard at Otis AFB. Douglas worked as a flight engineer and as a crew chief on the line.
Douglas loved hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping, boating, snowmobiling, ATVing and anything involving nature and the outdoors. He loved spending time in Maine, camping at Curlew Pond at Myles Standish State Forest and fishing and boating off the shores of Cape Cod.
He loved his dogs, especially his favorite German Shorthair, Coco. He could feed chipmunks out of his hand and any cat he met adored him. He was also a great lover of horses and as a teen worked on a horse farm in Middleboro, MA.
Douglas gave back to so many in the community here in Massachusetts as well as in Maine. He was an active member of the Carver Rod + Gun Club, the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine and a long time member of AA.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55+ years, Cynthia Ann (Dunne) Fleck of Carver, MA., his son Douglas James Fleck and daughter-in-law Lori of Pocasset, MA. Daughter, Kimberly Ann Fleck of Connecticut. Granddaughters, Cassie and Vanessa Fleck. Sister-in-law, Patricia Rahman and husband. Brother-in-law, John Michael Dunne and Sister-in-law Kathleen Robinson and several cousins and nieces.
Predeceased by father William Fleck, mother Barbara (Goff) Lizotte, sisters Avis Vivieros, Lois Motta and Bobbi Carter and brother Richard Robinson.
