Frederick Earl Winterbottom, 80, of Buzzards Bay, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016. He was the husband of Carol M. (Gavazza) Winterbottom. Born in St. Petersburg, FL, on June 13, 1936 he was the son of the late Laurence and Lillian F. (Allen) Winterbottom. He had lived in New Hampshire and graduated from Bourne High School in 1955 and joined the United States Air Force. He married Carol Gavazza in 1957. She had traveled with him to the Philippines, Texas, Madagascar and Greece.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Marilyn E. McGrath of Orlando, FL and Carolyn M. Rogers of Buzzards Bay, MA.
He loved his two German Shepherds and all pets. He was an avid golfer and New England Patriots and Red Sox fan. He was a beloved husband and father. After his military career he had worked with computers at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford where he later retired.
