George Edward Cooke Jr. 87, of So. Plymouth died at his home Wednesday Jan. 9, 2013. Born on No. Attleboro, Ma he was the son of the late George E. and Emma May (Thiele) Cooke. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Henry) Cooke. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He worked for the New Haven Railroad Boston from 1943 to 1946 then and also New Haven Ct. From 1950 to 1989 he was employed by Texas Instrutments. He built his family home in So. Plymouth in 1971 after summering there for many years. He leaves 2 sons George E. Cooke III, Timothy Cooke; 2 daughters Cynthia Gariepy, and Sandra Gibson; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. A Graveside service will be held Jan. 25, 2013 at 12:30 pm at the MA National Cemetery Bourne with Navy Honors. Please meet at the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd ,Bourne at noon for the procession to the cemetery.
