With great love—and a bit of disbelief—we share the passing of George A. Manifase, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and legendary jokester. George passed away on May 26, 2025, with his loving wife Sharon by his side, after 60 years of beautiful marriage.
George was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on September 27, 1944, to the late Mary (MacDonald) and Earl Manifase. He spent his early years in Roxbury, later moving to Roslindale, and attended Charlestown High School.
George lived to make people laugh. His pranks, quick wit, and unforgettable smile made him a light in every room. He also had a wildly creative spirit, launching a variety of businesses—including an ice cream parlor, a tropical fish store, a carpet store, and, finally, a granite shop. He was always dreaming, always building.
George had a sharp eye for beauty and color, and a heart full of joy.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon; his daughter, Jennifer; his son, George; and his son-in-law, Alexander Silvestre. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jennasi Silvestre, along with her boyfriend Dayton; Joeyy Green; and Joseph’s fiancée, Brooke.
George was pre-deceased by all of his siblings: Mary, Earl (Buzzy), Carmie, Stanley, and Baby Raymond.
“We are still not sure if this is one of his tricks.”
George will be missed beyond words—but the laughter, love, and light he gave us will live on in every story, every smile, and every memory.
A memorial visitation for George will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd, Bourne, MA 02532. A celebration of life service will occur Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM, 40 MacArthur Blvd, Bourne, MA 02532. The burial is private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in George's name to the American Heart Association,
