

Homer was born to the late Homer W. May Sr. and Selma Anna May (Reiff) in Pittsfield, MA on June 29, 1934. He served our country in the Navy from 1951 to 1959. After some college, he worked as an engineer for General Dynamics and then later Marine Systems until the age of 86.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Ann May (Bassett) of Sagamore Beach, sister Bertha Ross of Ft. Smith, AK, brother Gus Crowell of Key Largo, FL, Sons; Steven and his wife Betsy of Ft. Myers, FL, Bruce and his wife Melissa of Middleboro, MA. and Todd and his wife Chun Ae of Rockland, MA. His grandchildren Nicole, Steven, Daniel, Skyler, Sonya and Joshua and his wife Katie along with their children Hunter and Damon. And many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister Senta Canevari of CA.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, shooting sports and Boston sports teams. He was a member of the Monument Beach Sportsmen’s Club and Sagamore Rifle Club where he held many leadership roles and will be missed by many. He was greatly interested in his entire extended family through Genealogy and was motivated to keep his family in touch with each other. We will also miss his unique sense of humor.
His family have honored his wishes to not have a service. Remains will eventually be joined by his wife where they will be interned at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
