Jane was the beloved wife of Michael R. Manganella for 53 years. Together they built a loving family and raised six children: Michael, Paul, Mark, Kurt, Kim, and Stacy. Over the years, the family grew to include cherished in-laws, spouses, partners, grandchildren, and extended family members, creating a close-knit circle of nearly thirty people. Though too numerous to name individually, each was loved deeply and wholeheartedly by Jane.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1931 to Marie and John Walsh, Jane lived a life defined by faith, family, service, and determination. She embraced her role as a mother with unwavering devotion, dedicating 17 years as a stay-at-home mom while nurturing and supporting her growing family.
After raising her children, she embarked on a successful and diverse professional career. She joined Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where she served as Director of Public Relations. She later became President and Coordinator of the Luzerne County Commission for Women, advocating for women and families throughout the community. Jane also served as Director of Fundraising for the Hoyt Library, helping to strengthen an institution that enriched countless lives.
Her remarkable work ethic, passion for community service, and dedication to helping others remained with her throughout her life. Jane continued working until the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, compassion, and perseverance.
Above all, Jane was devoted to her faith and her family. She found joy in gathering loved ones together, celebrating life's milestones, offering guidance, and sharing unconditional love. Her kindness, strength, wisdom, and generous spirit touched all who knew her.
Jane's legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, extended family, and the many friends and colleagues whose lives she enriched. She will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her unwavering love for family, and her lifelong commitment to serving others.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Massachusetts, and the CVS Pharmacy in Sandwich, Massachusetts, for their compassionate care, kindness, and support. Their professionalism and genuine concern helped make a difficult time easier for all of us, and we are deeply grateful for the comfort they provided during Jane's final days.
Services and interment will be private and held at the discretion of the family.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
