John R. Elwood died Tuesday, December 20. He was 88 years old. Mr. Elwood was born in Bridgeport, Ct to Walter and Rose (O'Kane) Elwood. Known to most as "Jack" he served his country in WW II and the Korean War as a veteran of both the US Army and the US Air Force. He received the Purple Heart during WW II. John was married to his wife Jean for over 58 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, David and Paul, and his daughter Patricia Saunders. He also leaves a brother, Jim, and 9 grandchildren. The family will have a memorial service at the West Falmouth United Methodist Church, 636 West Falmouth Highway, Falmouth, MA on Saturday, January 21 at 11 am.
