Judith K. Flynn

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved and devoted mother and friend, Judith Kay (Magee) (Andrews) Flynn. With family and friends by her side, Judy died on January 28, 2021 after a brief illness.

Judy was born on August 28, 1946, in Norwell, MA to the late Floyd and Virginia Magee. She graduated from Norwell High School. She achieved a BS in Accounting from Newbury College, Brookline, MA. She continued her education earning an MBA from Curry College, Milton, MA.

She was a lifelong resident of Bourne, MA where she was actively committed to her community. Every three weeks (until her illness), she selflessly participated in Pheresis donation at the Red Cross in Taunton, MA. Judy was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 29 years. She counseled women in recovery at the Barnstable County Jail with Residents Encounter Christ in Hyannis, MA. She was a board member of Friends of the Homeless, Weymouth, MA as well as a Trustee, executive board member of the Barnstable County Agricultural Society. She volunteered at the Bourne Historical Society as their Treasurer. Judy was a Commissioner of Buzzards Bay Water District. Additionally, she was a committee member on the Bourne Finance Committee and the Bourne Wastewater Facility Design & Building Committee.

Judy was happiest when she was laughing with and caring for her family and friends. Also traveling with her cousin Betsey Wimperis to faraway lands.

Judy is survived by her brother, Russell Magee and his wife Tracy of North Brookfield, MA and sister, Roberta (Magee) Leavitt and her husband Michael of Raynham, MA.

She was a loving mother to sons Stanley D. Andrews, Floyd T. Andrews, Richard (Larry) L Flynn, all of Buzzards Bay, MA, and daughter Christina L. (Andrews) Harvey and her husband Mark W. Harvey of Pembroke, MA. A loving stepmother to Sherry M. (Flynn) Busnengo, Robyn Flynn, Robert (Bobby) Flynn Jr. and James (Jimmy) Flynn, all of Bourne, MA.

A proud grandmother of Stanley Jr. & Morgan Andrews of Buzzards Bay, MA, Kevin & Bridget Andrews of Rochester, MA, Kayla & Rebecca Flynn of Buzzards Bay, MA and Olivia & Mathew Harvey of Pembroke, MA. Proud step-grandmother Dwight, James, Ashley, Britany Flynn and, Kyle LaFlamme, Britney (Williams) White & Emma Busnengo of Bourne, MA,

Loving great-grandmother of Christopher Andrews and Isabella Flynn both of Buzzards Bay, MA. Step-great-grandmother of Kaylee McGonagle, Scarlet Rose White & Owen Flynn both of Bourne, MA

She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Magee and her beloved step-granddaughter Cassandra Marie Flynn-Rakos.

Judy’s life is summed up by her favorite quote, “Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!” ~ Vivian Greene.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date, when we can all gather safely and share our stories of how Judy touched and influenced our lives.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy’s memory to one of the above charities she so willingly gave her time to or similar charity to help others in need.
