

Lillian S. Court, 90, of Buzzards Bay, MA passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021 surrounded by her family at Keystone Place. Lillian was born on November 17, 1930 and raised in La Romana, Dominican Republic to Alvaro I. Court and Blanca P. Court (Pineyro). She was the oldest of three sisters, Miriam, and Carmen. She is survived by her four daughters, Annette Flaherty and husband, Robert of Naples, FL; Margaret Nadeau and husband, Peter of Swansea, MA; Cathleen Needleman and husband, Paul of North Falmouth, MA and Patricia D’Orsa-Dijamco and the late Salvador Dijamco of Estero, FL. Lillian was the proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
At the age of twelve, Lillian and her family Left Dominican Republic and moved to New York City. Lillian graduated from Julia Richman High School in New York. She attended Hunter College and transferred to St. John’s University to become a Pharmacist. In 1951, she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology from St. John’s. In 1954, Lillian married Robert. T. D’Orsa. Bob and Lillian moved to Newark, New York where they worked at Wayne Drug and started their family of four daughters. Lillian and Bob ultimately landed in Raynham, MA. She worked at Brockton Hospital as a pharmacist for several years. While working and raising her daughters, Lillian attended Bridgewater State College earning a Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling. Lillian was fluent in Spanish and French teaching Spanish and French at Bridgewater State College. She also taught Science at Bristol-Plymouth Vocational Technical School in Taunton, MA. Lillian yearned for more and purchased Reckard Pharmacy in Taunton, MA. Lillian was proprietor of Reckard’s until moving to South Hampton, Pennsylvania and subsequently to Highland Beach in South Florida. She continued working to almost eighty years of age at per diem pharmacy positions in Florida.
Lillian loved to dance and took ballroom dancing. She enjoyed travel to Europe, South America, the Caribbean and throughout the United States. Lillian had a special place in her heart for Cape Cod, lobster, and quo hogging. Lillian enjoyed her grandchildren, especially their sporting events being one of their biggest fans.
The family would like to thank the staff at Keystone Place in Buzzards Bay and the staff of Beacon Hospice of Plymouth. Their love, compassion and caring for Lil during her journey to the end of her days was a great gift.
Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass being held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 841 Shore Road, Pocasset, MA 02559. COVID precautions and protocol will be observed.
