Lorna Marie Belair passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at home in Sagamore Beach, MA. She was the wife of the late Emile E. Belair who passed away on February 1, 2016. Born on January 9, 1923 in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Romeo Victor and Mary Beatrice Billings. She was a graduate of the Commerce High School and Becker College, both in Worcester. She married in September 1947 and then raised her four children after which she worked for several years at the former Worcester County National Bank.
After moving to Sagamore Beach in 1979, she worked for the Plymouth Five Cent Savings bank where she became the head of the Safety Deposit department until she retired. Lorna served as president of the New England Safety Deposit Association of South Eastern Mass.
A long time communicant of Corpus Christi Parish in Sandwich, she served as a lector and sang in the Resurrection Choir. She received the Marion Medal from the Diocese of Fall River in 2005 for her volunteer work at Corpus Christi. She was also a volunteer at the Cape Heritage Nursing Center in Sandwich where she assisted with patient care and served as a lector for masses.
She leaves her four children, Donna Costa of North Scituate, RI, Paula Belair and her husband Walter Zukas of Boxborough, MA, Edward Belair and his wife Melissa of Taunton, MA and John Belair and his wife Cathy-Lynne of Falmouth, MA. Her eight grandchildren are David Costa and Katie Soto both of California, Michael Belair of Virginia, Benjamin Belair of Falmouth, Sarah and Daniel Belair of Taunton, and Steven and Joseph Zukas of Boxborough. Her great grandchildren are Sophia, Ryan and Colin Soto and Conor and Lily Belair. She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Mildred Curtis of Shrewsbury, MA and Margaret Swanberg of Claremont, CA. She was the mother-in-law of the late Thomas Costa. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish 324 Quaker Meeting House Road Sandwich, MA. Her visitation will be held prior to mass 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne, MA.
