Lorraine E. LeBrun

Born in Salem, Mass. to Lucien and Esther (Marcaurelle) Raymond, Lorraine proudly attended Ste. Chretienne Academy and Anna Maria College. She enjoyed her work in the lab at Salem Hospital and later as a clerk and pharmacy technician at several Cape Cod businesses.

Early in their marriage, Lorraine and her husband Ray moved from Salem to Bourne, where Lorraine was a resident for 53 years. Very active in the community, she was a long-time member of the Bourne Junior Women’s Club and a volunteer at the Bourne Public Library. Devoted to her parish, St. John the Evangelist in Pocasset, Lorraine served as a Eucharistic Minister, taught religious education, and was a member of both the Women’s Guild and the St. Vincent de Paul ministry. She was also an active member of the Cursillo movement, through which she met many dear friends who shared her deep faith. She also had many lifelong friends in Salem.

Lorraine’s greatest love of all was her family. She leaves her beloved husband of 56 years, Raymond A. LeBrun, and was the loving mother of Kathleen Norton Cannavo (Steve), Donna McGonagle, Peter (Kathleen), Leanne Dineen (Gerry), Michael (Sarah), and Scott (Erica). She was the beloved grandmother (fondly known as “Mem”) of Alyssa, Nikki, John, Jaryd, Lauryn, Jordan, Maggie, Pete, Jack, Meg, Brett, Emily, Nathan, Molly, Ryan, and Mia. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents and her brother Louis.

Lorraine’s family wishes to thank the staff at Cape Cod Senior Residences in Pocasset, Royal Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Buzzards Bay, and the Barth Unit at Tobey Hospital for their exceptional and loving care during Lorraine’s final days and years.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 12 noon at St. John the Evangelist Church. Visitation Sunday 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery.
