

Marion Anderson died peacefully on October 9th at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Center in Lawrence, Ma. after a long journey through Alzheimer’s disease. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of MI for all their loving care..
She was born on December 12, 1924 in Worcester, Ma. the daughter of the late John G. and Alice G. (Hogvall) Stromberg. She is predeceased by her husband Howard Anderson, her son Randolph Anderson, and her sisters Eleanor Goodhue and Margaret Larson.
Marion was raised in Worcester, graduated from Commerce High School and worked at the Paul Revere Insurance Co. She and her husband and his brother, Stanley G. Anderson, ran Ramshorn Orchards in West Millbury, Ma. selling apples and peaches there for 17 years. They enjoyed semi-retirement after moving to Monument Beach in Bourne on Cape Cod. Marion worked as a waitress at Howard Johnson’s and Big Boy’s on the Bourne Bridge ramp for many years. Marion was an accomplished seamstress and knitter, enjoyed bingo at St. John’s and loved her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra and her husband Douglas Carlson of Salem, NH; her granddaughters Laura and her husband Joel Baldassaro of Nashua, N.H. and Greta and her husband Tim Hunt of England, great-grandchildren Caden and Addison, and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are through the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at the Cape Cod National Cemetery in Bourne, Ma. Oct. 14 at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of NH, 166 S. River Rd. #210, Bedford, NH 0311
