Martha was born in Taunton on May 11th, 1920, the daughter of Robert Lincoln and Corrinne Holbrook Lincoln. Martha went to Taunton Public Schools and graduated from Taunton High School in 1938. She then went to Katherine Gibbs School, graduated in 1940, and joined the Women's Army Corps in 1941. Martha was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1945, but remained at Fort Lewis as a civilian retaining a military position as secretary to the colonel in charge of transportation until 1955 when she was transferred to Otis Air Force Base.
After Martha's military career, she became a Realtor and worked in the Real Estate business for 53 years. Much of that time was spent as partner in Century 21 Bourne Landing Real Estate in Buzzards Bay, MA.
Martha was a horse back rider, golfer, tennis player, and sailor; she loved barefoot shell-fishing, but she also loved the Real Estate business, the people she worked with and the people she met.
Martha leaves her niece, Polly Lincoln of Pocasett, MA; her nephew, Nicholas Lincoln of Port Charlotte, FL; her friend, Ruth Wedge of Onset, MA, and all her colleagues at Century 21 Bourne Landing Real Estate.
A service will be held at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 18th. She will be buried at the National Cemetery on Otis Air Force Base at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Blinded Veterans Association, 477 H Street, Northwest, Washington, DC 20001-2694; their services were important to Martha in her later years.
