Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2018 after a long illness. She
is survived by her husband, Nicholas R. DiCaprio, to whom she was married for forty-seven
years.
Maureen was the daughter of the late Francis A. Martin and Mary C. (Winston) Martin, and was
graduated from Oliver Ames High School Class of 1965. She was a graduate of Northeastern
University School of Nursing and loved her work as a pediatric medical-surgical nurse at
Children’s Hospital in Boston for a number of years. She continued her nursing vocation at
different hospitals and facilities while raising her family, from New Jersey to Iceland to Easton.
In addition to her husband, Nick, Maureen is survived by two sons, Nicholas E. DiCaprio and
his wife Nicole (Poulin) of West Springfield, Massachusetts; and Jason D. DiCaprio and his wife
Amy (Cronin), of Amherst, Massachusetts. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Soleil,
Miles and Felix; and two great-grandchildren, Hazell and Maison. Maureen is also survived by
her brother, Robert M. Martin and his wife, Sharon (MacKinnon) of Easton, Massachusetts,
step-sister Martha M. (Doldt) Llewellyn and her husband Robert Llewellyn of Logsden, Oregon;
and sister-in-law Janet (Knapp) Martin of Brockton, Massachusetts; nieces Catherine, Suzanne,
Kasara, Kaleigh, and Chelsea; nephews Michael and Robert; an aunt, Rosemarie Campbell of
California, and several cousins, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In addition to her parents,
Maureen was pre-deceased by her brother, Francis A. Martin, Jr.
Maureen loved reading, and had a special fondness for poetry and Irish Literature. She
enjoyed painting and rooting for the Red Sox and Patriots. Most of all, Maureen loved
spending time with friends and family, by whom she will be deeply missed.
Services will be private.
