Nicole M. Goodman, age 28, of Cataumet, MA, died on November 7, 2019 at home with her family after fighting a life threatening illness for many years.

She was a graduate of Bourne High School and a student at UMass, studying to become a probation officer. Despite her illness, Nikki, as she was known to most, lived her life every day to the fullest. She became an advocate for herself, learning to fight for her rights within the medical system and helping others with resources and knowledge. She helped whenever she could. That’s who Nicole was. She would make friends wherever she went. Her smile was contagious and when she walked into a room all eyes were on her. She was passionate about her family and friends. If you were in Nicole’s “village,” it was for life. She enjoyed going to concerts, broadway shows, and spending time with her family and friends. Halloween was her favorite holiday. Fashion was her passion. She was always dressed like a diva from head to toe with matching jewelry and purse. Nicole lived hard and loved even harder. She was a warrior who never gave in to her disease. She was a hero to all that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Nikki is survived by her mother and best friend Heather Alden, sisters Madison Ann Cryan, Alisa Goodman and Jo-Anne Goodman, brother Ethan Cryan, maternal grandparents Ann and Ernest Alden; Dawn (Alden) Underhill, Matt Underhill and their daughters Arissa and Deianeira of Rochester, MA; Ernest E. Alden, Dawn Irene Alden and their children Connor and Emmaline of West Wareham, MA; Pamela (Alden) Riley; Michael Riley and their daughters Jordyn and Jamie of Attleboro, MA; Elizabeth and Jude Wilbur of Hatchville, MA; Stephen Cryan of Pocasset, MA and Linwood L. Perry of Cataumet. She is predeceased by her dog, Newton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Church 841 Shore Road Pocasset, MA. Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Nickerson- Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA.

In all the years that I had the privilege of coming to visit with you and Heather; and your sister and brother - I was always amazed at your courageous and positive attitude! You advocated from your heart - your desire to live, everyday to the fullest, was evident to all that knew you - I was your supportive Care Manager - but, you taught me so much about navigating our often broken Health Care System with knowledge and determination - A Warrior indeed - you watch over us all now - your Soul shines, oh so very bright! We will all miss you!

On a snowy night a baby girl named Nicole was born. We didn’t know she was a princess warrior . She was just a little girl who learned to walk, talk, run, ride bikes, and drove a car. Nicole was a typical teenager till a vicious disease attacked her and then our princess warrior went to war. Nicole fought with all her might but this disease was stronger then her and in the end it won the war. Nicole’s village fought the battle helping a warrior queen named Heather till the end. To Nicole’s “village there are no words to say but Thank You! God bless you all!

Dearest old friends, Ann, Ernie and most especially Heather, and the rest of the Alden clan....my deepest sympathy and thoughts are with you at this darkest time. Take comfort in the fact that Nicole fought the good fight and that she is no longer in pain or discomfort. Heather you did a hell of a good and loving task of caring for her. May the Good thought be with all of you. sincerely, Linda Bilodeau.

Nikki, I miss you more than anything. I would do anything to hear your voice, your advice, see that smile one more time. I feel so lost without you. You were so excited to meet my daughter and I know you’re going to be w me every minute of the day she’s born just like you wanted and I know you’ll watch over her and guide her through life. I hope she gets your dimples and is your little twin. I will never forget all the times we shared together, how much you loved me, how much you believed in me. I don’t know how you endured all that you did with a smile remaining on your face but you did it. Forever my inspiration, my “big sissy” as EJ would call you. We love you forever and although the holidays will never be the same without you, everything’s going to be big for you. Please guide EJ, me and mom through this difficult time as none of us know what to do without you. We love you Nikki. More than anything🥰💕

I still can’t believe you are gone. Nikki you always managed to smile no matter how you were feeling and that smile made everyone want to be around you. You had the strength of a warrior and taught us all how to be gracious under pressure and dress like a diva while doing it. I know your strength will be living on in your family and that you will forever be guiding them. Rest In Peace beautiful girl. We love you.

I haven't seen Nikki in person since she was a baby. I wish I had. She was a very cute and happy baby. May she rest in peace.
