O’Neill, Patricia Louise, 96, of Bourne, MA, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, at the Royal of Cape Cod. Born in Brockton, MA, on August 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Frank M. Allen and Evelyn R. Trottier.
Patricia was raised in Whitman, MA, and graduated third in her class from Whitman High School. She later attended Stonehill College and Boston University, where she nurtured her love of American literature. She was married to John O’Neill of West Roxbury for 56 wonderful years, and together they cherished winters in Florida and travels abroad with dear friends. Earlier in life, she was married to Leo Lucini of West Bridgewater, who tragically lost his life in 1951 while serving as a volunteer firefighter.
Patricia is survived by her children: Eugene O’Neill and his wife Frances of Braintree, John O’Neill of Braintree, and Stephen O’Neill of Bourne, as well as her daughter Peri-Ann Reilly and her husband Joseph Reilly of Scituate. She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren and a beloved great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John A. O’Neill, and her sister, Arlene Brown.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 20th from 11-12pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA, followed by a service at 12:00 pm. A procession to Massachusetts National Cemetery will take place immediately afterward for a 12:45 PM burial, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, John.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Patricia’s name to Continuum Hospice and Palliative Care of Fall River, MA.
