

Patricia Lorraine Hayden Schlager, 89, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026 surrounded by her family. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, John, her best friend and partner for 58 years. Born July 2, 1936, Patricia lived a life defined by creativity, grace, and devotion to her loved ones.
A 1954 graduate of Braintree High School, she met her beloved husband, John Schlager, there. They married on May 20, 1955, and shared 58 loving years together until his passing in 2013.
Patricia and John made their home in Holbrook and later in Hanover, where they raised their daughters, Jaki and Kim. She created a warm home centered on family, gardening, entertaining, and many treasured summers camping in Maine. They camped for 16 years with their friends from High School; turning the group into one big family. Pat and her girlfriends got together once a month for “Club” for many years, supporting each other through the good and the difficult times.
In retirement, Patricia and John enjoyed years in Mooresville, North Carolina, golfing, boating on Lake Norman, and traveling throughout the United States before returning to Massachusetts to be closer to family.
She had a wonderful life and is finally at peace and back with the love of her life.
Patricia is survived by her daughters, Jaki McConkey and husband Ric, and Kim Venable and husband Bob; her grandchildren, Zak McConkey and wife Jennie, Madison McConkey and partner Andrew Crumby, and John Venable.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law, June Connors of Pembroke, Massachusetts; her brother-in-law Dickie Schlager and his wife Gladys of Florida; along with many nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known her
warmth, creativity, elegance, and love.
