Paul Donald Rooney

Paul Donald Rooney, 84, passed away on June 25 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Barbara Marie Rooney (LeCours), son to the late James Joseph Rooney and Mary Ella (MacGillvary) Rooney.

Paul was born in Medford, MA and grew up there, attending area schools. Once he had graduated High School he answered the call of service, joining the United States Coast Guard in 1952. After his Honorable service, Paul went on to many successful years as a top salesman for Bristol Meyers where he earned several awards.

Paul was very active in the community, volunteering much of his time at St. Coleman’s Church in Brockton. He very much enjoyed playing on the streets with neighborhood kids.

Paul is survived by his children Paula Thompson and husband Richard of Weymouth, Laurie Sylvester and husband Anthony of Sandwich, and Michael Rooney of Hyannis. Brother to James Rooney of Medford, Mary Rooney of Florida, and Ella Rooney. Grandfather to R.P. Thompson, Katrina Parlee, Barbie Sylvester, and Nina Rooney.

All services will be held privately.
