

Philip C. Reese, 84, of Marilyn Road, Monument Beach, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 9, 2017 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham after a brief hospitalization following several months of falling health. He was born November 14, 1932 in Harrison Township, PA, son of the late Fred L. and Leona M. (Bruce) Reese. He was happily married for 55 years to Helen (Waterman) Reese until her passing on June 30, 2011.
He was a 1950 graduate of Freeport Area High School and later graduated from Fisher Junior College with an Associate degree in Science. After high school he joined the United States Air Force, serving 22 years in many different states and other countries before retiring in 1972 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He then worked as an electronic engineer for the Foxboro Company until retiring again. He was credited with two patents by the U.S. Patent Office.
He was described as a quiet but intelligent and thoughtful man, as well as a loving husband and father, he is survived by two daughters, Martha (Reese) McGonagle and her husband Andrew Neil McGonagle and Rebecca Reese and her longtime companion Edward Sivachek of East Greenwich, RI, as well as a sister, Wanda Gille of Freeport, PA. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Reese and Frederick Reese and two sisters, Jean Holland and Bertha Coleman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 12 noon Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. Visitation prior to service 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Bourne Food Pantry, P.O. Box 144 Buzzards Bay, MA 02532.
