Born in Cambridge, MA he was the son of the late William James and Mary Frances (Gorman) Patton.
Mr. Patton was self-employed and worked in the food industry for many years. He was an avid champion skeet shooter and member of the Falmouth Skeet Club for many years. He loved hunting, fishing and outdoor sports. He spent his retirement fishing most days.
He loved his hunting dogs, Brittanys and German shorthaired Pointers.
A veteran of the U.S. Army he served in the MA National Guard and Air Force Reserve.
Besides his wife he is survived by his sons, Gary Patton and his wife Scarlett, Richard Patton, Jr., Wiliam Patton and partner Yvette Brailey and David Patton and his wife Debra, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Burial to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visitation at 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
