Robert Adam Scena passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on August 29, 2025. 82 years and forever young at heart, Bobby, as he was fondly referred to by those who knew him well, was a larger than life person and a dedicated and industrious presence in many aspects of the automobile industry. His early love of cars fueled his passion for restoring award winning hot rods. He was known in his hometown of Roslindale, MA for having the best cars and was a consummate perfectionist. His career in sales and marketing was first sparked in the furniture business which eventually led him to pivot into the automobile business. Bob's drive and determination made him a sought after dealer of many franchises, most notably Isuzu, which was part of his Showcase Auto Group in Bourne. Bob loved his employees and customers and for many years held the honor of being a top-selling dealer in the country.
When not engrossed in cars Bob enjoyed sailing, music, and Italy, where he traveled extensively and made many friends. His time in Italy inspired him to transform his Cape Cod home into an Italian retreat where he loved to entertain friends, both new and old. In his final years he was on the road with daily stops to dealerships and auctions in MA, NH, and in Rhode Island. His arrival was often marked with boxes of pastry and sometimes grappa from the North End. Bob loved the finer things and sharing his gourmet finds with others brought him great joy. He also took great pleasure in treating service members to a coffee or a breakfast sandwich, chatting and thanking them for their service. Bob was fun-loving and generous with an unrelenting sense of humor and quick wit. He was known to bring laughter and quips with him everywhere he went.
In his personal life, Robert was a devoted family man who cherished his children and grandchildren. He was exceptionally proud of all his children and grandchildren's accomplishments, and supportive of their passions which were as varied and unique as Bob's own. Robert is survived by his wife Carmela Coco Scena, his son Robert and his wife Laura, sons Adam and Michael, daughters Carly, and Vicki, and his grandchildren Isabella and Matteo. He is also survived by brothers Victor and Ernest "Joe" Scena and predeceased by his sister Elisabeth and brother Anthony, his mother Mary Alice Pierce and father Ernest Scena.
A visitation will be held on September 3, 2025, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, located at 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the same location.
Robert’s presence will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the community he served so faithfully.
