Ruth M. Caldwell

Ruth Marie Caldwell passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 4, 2024 in Falmouth hospital. She was born July 16, 1933 in Costello, PA and moved to Coudersport, PA in 1942 after the floods from a burst dam. She graduated in 1951 from Coudersport Area High School where she was a majorette. She was married in August 1951 to Albert Carey and resided in Rubbertown, PA until 1958.

In 1961 she married Paul Caldwell and moved with her family to Wareham, MA where she worked for the US Air Force and then the US Coast Guard. After retirement she enjoyed travel to visit family and friends around the country and overseas. Her greatest joy came from volunteering for her church and donating to various charities.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul of 54 years, her parents John and Ella Pekarski, and her three brothers Robert, John, and Charles (Bud). She is survived by her children Tom (Elise), Susan (Donald), Colleen (Russell), David (Betsy) and her daughter-in-law Becky. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 8th at 10:00am in St. Margaret’s Church, 141 Main St. Buzzards Bay, MA.
