November 4, 1940 – February 10, 2020
BANDY, Teresa (Caico), 79, of Pocasset, MA, passed away at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham, MA on February 10, 2020.
Teresa was born to the late Giuseppe and Rosaria Caico (Mule) in Zavia, an Italian settlement in Libya.
Her family moved to the United States in August 1954 where she grew up in Mt Kisco, NY. After high school, she moved to NYC and enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Technology to study art and textile design. While visiting Virginia Beach with her friend, Annette, she met Joseph Bandy, her longtime husband. They were married on September 7, 1963. They raised two children in Katonah, NY, where Teresa also worked as an administrative assistant for many years. Not until she retired was she able to return to her real love of painting. Teresa and Joe traveled back and forth from Cape Cod to Naples, FL, where she was able to perfect her craft and concentrate on her love for watercolor painting.
Besides painting, Teresa loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was able to spend a lot of time with them as they were growing up, making many great family memories. In fact, they traveled to Italy to celebrate Teresa and Joe’s 50th Anniversary where they met and reconnected with many relatives. A few years later, they traveled to Dublin, Ireland and Edinburgh, Scotland. During Teresa’s last year, she was diagnosed with ALS. Even though the disease made her last year difficult, she never lost her strength, grace, and positive attitude. She will be remembered by her family and friends as loving, caring, creative and a talented watercolor painter.
Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, Teresa is survived by her loving husband Joseph of 56 years. Her daughter Lisa Rooney (Bandy) and husband Tim of Duxbury, MA, her son Kevin Bandy and Kara Alderisio of Katonah, New York, and two grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, three brothers, 10 nieces and nephews, and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral Mass will be held on March 14th 2020, at St. John of the Evangelist Parish, 326 Shore Rd. Pocasset, MA.
Burial will be private.
It takes a tribe to care for ALS patients, and Teresa’s family greatly appreciates all of the outside help they received. A big thank you goes to Sunrise Senior Living in Plymouth for amazing care. Staff members and CNAs went above and beyond to help Teresa each and every day. Another big thanks goes to The ALS Association MA Chapter and Compassionate Care ALS. These two organizations helped the family better understand the disease, what to expect, how to handle challenges, and provided as needed equipment.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Teresa’s name to two ALS organizations that helped her out tremendously.

My deepest condolences to the Bandy family. I'm so grateful to have known her and all of you. Terry has been an inspiration to me since the day I met her. With all that she was going through she was always gracious and kind. And with all that you were going through, you were just as gracious and kind. Thank you for making us a part of her life. I will never forget her radiant smile and what she's taught me during the time I've gotten to know her. She means a lot to me. You and Terry are forever in my prayers.

We are do sorry to hear of Terry's untimely passing. Karl and I have known Joe and Terry Bandy for over 50 years as Karl and Joe worked together as store managers for Lloyd Lumber in New York. Each year the managers of profitable Lloyd Lumber home center stores and their wives earned vacations at various lush Caribbean islands. We have many happy and humorous memories of these trips. Karl and I have been cherished friends of Joe and Terry, having kept in touch over the year with visits in New York, Cape Cod, and Naples, Florida. I will remember Terry as the most loving mother, wife and friend. She shared her artistic talent by making personalized Christmas items for us over the years. I also remember that Terry was the first one to welcome me when I was first introduced to Karl's friends prior to one of the vacation trips. She made me feel immediately welcome and part of the group. I will think of her whenever I see the beautiful flowers from which she made beautiful arrangements May she enjoy the company of the angels and saints in heaven. Joe, we will be here for you whatever you need. God Bless you all. , Barbara and Karl Wettels
