

Bourne - Thomas R. McGuire, age 73 of Monument Beach (Bourne), MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Johnston) McGuire for 43 years and the son of the late Ernest and Doris (April) McGuire.
Tom was born and raised in Lawrence, MA, graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1968. He enrolled and attended electronics school in Boston before going on to serve four years in the U.S. Air Force and 34 years for the Massachusetts Air National Guard's 102nd FIW at Otis Air National Guard Base. His career began as an aircraft mechanic and retired in 2007 as a Chief Master Sergeant. During the span of his 38-year career, he was deployed to several countries including Okinawa, Canada, Amsterdam, Panama, Iceland and Turkey in addition to various locations throughout the U.S.
Tom was kind, generous and known for his infectious laugh and smile. His positive and fun-loving personality will be missed by all who knew him. He embraced anything to do with technology and had a passion for playing cards. He enjoyed traveling cross country to visit family in Las Vegas and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his son Ryan and wife Jacqueline and granddaughter Grace of Henderson, NV; his daughter Robin and husband Cory Fonger and grandson Thomas of Taunton, MA. He is also survived by his sister, Denise McGuire of Lawrence, MA as well as his brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Massachusetts National Cemetery on Connery Ave. at 2:30 p.m.
His family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dana Farber Cancer Institute for the care they provided over the past 10 years.
