Aida McClellan

Aida McClellan was a devoted wife of 40 years, married to Paul J. McClellan in St. Jude Thaddeus Church, Sinajana, Guam on 8 March 1973. A most loving Mother to Holly and Paul J.J., she was also the eldest sister to two brothers (Jolly and Eduardo), and to five sisters (Nita, Nida, Villa-deceased, Sonia, and Myrna).

Aida graduated from The University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, popularly known as "UST", with a Bachelor of Music degree in piano. UST is the oldest and largest Catholic university in Manila, Philippines. During the 1970s she taught piano at the Guam Academy of Music and Arts where she met and married Paul. She continued teaching piano to hundreds of students over the years in her home in Laurel, Maryland. She was a member of the Music Teachers Association, and acclaimed for her teaching expertise and patience.

She was a devout Catholic and attended mass faithfully. She was a member of the Christian group Couples for Christ, and delighted in the prayers, singing, fellowship, and joyous celebrations of the love of God. She was friendly to all and dearly loved by family and friends. Her life long passions were her family, cleanliness, interior home decorating, dancing, and political developments.

We miss you, Aida, and will always remember you and cherish the great love you showed us throughout our lives.

On Wednesday, January 2, 2013 of The Villages, FL and Laurel, MD. Wife of Paul J. McClellan; mother of Holly and Paul J. J. McClellan; sister of Nita Canlas Geronimo, Nida Canlas McDonnell, Eduardo Banzon Canlas, Sonia Banzon Canlas, Jolly Banzon Canlas, Myrna Canlas Tañada and the late Villa Canlas Dalugdug. Family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Rd., Bowie, MD 20715 from 6 to 9 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 8603 Contee Rd., Laurel, MD 20708. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
