On April 1, 2014 Timmy Smith passed away unexpectedly. He became a volunteer firefighter at the Glenn Dale Volunteer Fire Association in 1972 at the age of 16. Timmy is the son of Margaret H. Smith and the late Edgar M. Smith; husband of Tammy Lynn Smith; father of Jessie Lee and Jamie Lynn Smith; brother of Debbie Mitterer, Susan Cave and Mark Smith. Family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 pm where Fireman's Prayers will be held at 7 pm and a funeral service will be held 10 am, Tuesday, April 8, 2014. A fire department procession will follow to the Glenn Dale Volunteer Fire Station, 11900 Glenn Dale Blvd 20769 where fire department honors will be held and a celebration will follow at the fire station reception hall. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tammy Smith - Memorial Fund for Jessie L. and Jamie L. Smith at the SunTrust Bank, 15998 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715.
